At Jewellery Quarter Academy, our goal is to prepare students for the wider world, with science serving as the vehicle to do so. Through the delivery of our science curriculum, we aim to develop responsible citizens who have the knowledge and skills to change their environment. We are committed to helping our students achieve the best possible outcomes, so as to ensure they have access to any post-16 opportunity they wish to pursue. Our curriculum is designed to teach students all about major scientific concepts with real world applications. We believe these ‘Big Ideas’ are pivotal in allowing our students to understand the world they live in. Through regular hands-on practical work, we aim to support our students in understanding key disciplinary skills, enabling them to critically evaluate data and studies that they come across in their day-to-day life. Above all, our teaching is rooted in a love of science and a curiosity for the inner workings of the world, which we hope to pass on to our students through high-quality and engaging lessons.
